I love my kawaii lifestyle blog, but just like the rest of you anime lovers, I have a day job. That’s why with as much anime stuff that I feature on my YouTube channel, I still like to do women’s shopping hauls with work attire, casual clothes and occasionally evening wear. For this shopping haul, I chose mostly Ann Taylor clothing that I could wear at work. I’ve also selected a few casual pieces like Ann Taylor’s embroidered jeans and a fun sweatshirt top that ties in the front.

Ann Taylor Jeans Reviews
There are many mixed reviews of Ann Taylor jeans online. i found that for my curvy body type, Ann Taylor jeans run big. I ordered the same size jean that I wear in several other companies, and there was over an inch of extra material at the center back seam. I’ve listed some of the jean brands I like to wear here so that you can do your own comparison.

If you find that you’re in between sizes, I would highly recommend that you order a size down. If you like belts and prefer a looser style of jean, order your typical size. Both the Ann Taylor pant and embroidered jeans that I ordered were big on me.
Does Ann Taylor Run Big?
Yes Ann Taylor runs big. Not only were pants and jeans too large on my normal size, but the tops and shirts are too big too. I highly recommend that you size down in most clothing from Ann Taylor.
Ann Taylor Sales And When To Buy
One thing I really like about Ann Taylor are their great sales. It’s also interesting that, at least in my area, what they carry in-store is pretty different from what’s available online. When an Ann Taylor sale is going on, it’s best to look online and go into the store. Better yet, plan ahead when you’re hitting the Ann Taylor sale. If I know the sale is going on, I’ll take the time to make a list of things I want like work pants, tops, or a line dresses. I hardly ever buy work clothes when they’re new and full priced from this company. I prefer to wait until there’s an Ann Taylor clearance sale. and The best part is that they have sales regularly. Does that mean the cheap women’s dress shirt or floral fitted skirt you’ve been eyeing will be on clearance? No, not necessarily. Most things do go on sale, but if there’s an item you truly want, you should grab it.Especially if it hasn’t been included in the last two sale updates, which usually means it won’t go on sale for quite some time. Most Ann Taylor clothing online that I want and make a point to watch, does eventually go on sale. Keep in mind though, that doesn’t mean your size will be there when it does. You’ll have to pick and choose your battles.

Hello again and thanks for watching the Life kawaii. Today I’m going to be featuring an Ann Taylor haul and I actually have the first package from them. They’re sending me two packages so I’m getting the second one tomorrow and you’ll see me look different when I open that one. But I was really excited to get the first one so I want to go ahead and start and see what some of the stuff looks like. So I ordered about seven or eight different things and this feels like maybe, it’s maybe three things.
All right. Oh here we go it’ll actually tell you how many I got. Oh, no I can’t. They do not have a list here. Okay nevermind. So this looks like the first two things. So this is a pair of jeans that I ordered and I actually haven’t worn their jeans in years, so I have no idea what the fit is like or anything. This will be a new experience for me. I haven’t tried any embroidered jeans yet which is why I picked these. So I’ll give these a go and see what they look like.
And this is one of the tops that I ordered. It’s like a pink, pink sweater top and it has a tie that comes with it that I actually thought would be separate but they have it sewn into the back of the shirt. Here we go, it’s actually sewn in it. I don’t know yet if I like that or not. Stay tuned. So I am going to try both of these on, maybe together, depending on how these jeans look, and we can see what they look like. Let’s try.
So I wanted to leave you with a couple of my last thoughts on the order after the try on. The first order that I got from Ann Taylor with the jeans and the pink top. I really liked the jeans. I am going to take them back but only because you can see in the video, they’re just a little bit too big for me in the back. So I would tell you, if you haven’t bought a lot of Ann Taylor jeans like I have not. I wear a size 6 literally everywhere, size 6 or size 27 everywhere, and that almost never changes. These are size 6 and they’re in stretch Jean material that I usually look for very specifically anywhere that I shop. I still need a 4 in their jeans and you can also see in the video whenever I’m walking, they’re in my opinion, they need to be at least like a half inch shorter. They’re just a little bit long. So if you’re thinking of ordering Ann Taylor jeans, they do run big. Order a size down, especially if it’s stretchy.
The other thing I wanted to mention is, since this was my first time trying on embroidered pants of any kind, I am surprised you can’t even feel this on. So I thought that this would feel really icky against my skin because it doesn’t look, doesn’t look awesome from the inside. It looks like it would be uncomfortable. You really can’t feel it at all. It’s so smooth. So I’m surprised by that. I am definitely going to look for another pair of embroidered jeans I am officially into this look. Just now, today, into it.
And for the pink top, I love the pink top. I think you can tell whenever I’m wearing it in the footage that I, I like it a lot. It is an extra small petite. You could also just do regular, your regular size not in the petite version, depends on your body type. I usually like my shirts a little bit shorter, even though I don’t really consider myself a true petite body frame. But I like the shorter cut. So if you like your shorter too I recommend the petite size, but this was the extra small that I tried. I love this. It feels so nice, it’s thick. I’m probably going to be using it mostly in the office.
So during the summer I’ll take things like this into the workplace with me and I’ll probably have on my, my dress shirt underneath. And then I’ll just wear my sleeveless top through the New York heat to get to work, and then when I get to work and it’s freezing, I always like to put on things like this on top of it. So even though this is made out of a nice stretchy sweatshirt material, because it has a nice shape and a bow in the front and it’s, it’s cut well it still looks professional, but it will keep me nice and toasty and warm. So definitely like this and once I got it on, the tie in the back doesn’t bother me at all. I can’t feel it. So unless you think that you would not want the tie on it, which is kind of the whole focal point of the shirt, I don’t think that that should hinder you from purchasing it at all. It’s very comfortable.
And the last thing I was going to do, mostly because I was curious about it. On this top, I wanted to know what it was made out of because it feel so nice and squishy. What is this? Ah okay, cotton. So it’s 94% cotton 6% spandex. So it’s real cotton. That’s why it feels so good. And let’s move on to the other things.
Hello again. So as you can see, it is a different day, and I have received the other package. So this is the big one. Let’s see what’s in here. For the record really quickly, the the shipping from Ann Taylor was super fast. I got, even though I received two different packages, I got one yesterday and this one came the very next day. It didn’t even take them a full seven days, it was quick. All right.
I know exactly what this is. This is the sweater that I have wanted from Ann Taylor the whole season. When it first came out, it was pretty expensive. It was like a $100 sweater, and this time I think I got this for maybe $20 on clearance right now. Oh there we go. It’s like a high-neck and then it’s fitted. It has a slight bell sleeve, and then it’s fitted over the hips with a little slit on the side and it feels super nice. Let’s see what this material is. If you guys watch my videos, you know I’m fabric obsessed. Is it acrylic? Is it wool? Mmmmmm. Acrylic and wool. Getting pretty good at this. All right, let’s see what’s next. Oh okay.
This is a dress shirt with interesting sleeves. So I always like dress shirts with shorts or pants depending on the season for work. I think we’ve got about two more weeks of spring here before I’m going to gonna be in much hotter weather all of a sudden. Oooo this feels nice too. Okay so here’s that, and it’s almost it’s kind of like a tuxedo sleeve. Oh I’m gonna have to press this one before I model it for you guys for sure. Here is the tie. So it ties in the front, or back, or wherever you want, and buttons down the front.
Here we go. Some dress pants. I mostly ordered these because I thought that color was really neat. I don’t have any pants in this, this tan color. I don’t even have a pair of khakis. So I thought this was a neat color. I haven’t had their pants in a long time, so I’m not entirely sure how the fit is. This is called the Chelsea. So it’s like a nude and then has pockets, and if you can see in the back it has the the seam line. Which is usually good for a woman’s body type. And then it has a side zip and a little snap to keep everything in place. Is this stretchy? Yes okay. Hopefully those will fit.
And then I have a shirt. A shirt with flowers on it that I picked because I thought it looked kawaii. Sort of reminded me of some Japanese flowers that I saw on a kimono recently that I wanted. And that’s just a basic t-shirt, but I like the print and it. Feels nice.
I think this one’s just a basic tee. I already have two or three of their basics. Just sort of 3/4 length shirts, I really like those. Yeah just a basic. I love pairing these with pencil skirts. Yeah so here’s the back and the front. You can see it’s just like a scooped boat neck top. Very stretchy. It’s 100% cotton I think on that one. This kind of was the wild card. I’m not sure if I’m going to like this or not. Once again it had a floral print that I like, and it’s stretchy, and I really like my pencil skirts. I think the only skirts I really don’t wear are miniskirts. I either want a complete full like 1950s pouf skirt, or I want a fitted pencil skirt. Those are pretty much my main objectives.
Anyways I’m gonna have to figure that out on my own, but I’ll try these on and let you see what they look like. Okay so my last thoughts on the second part of my order. The red shirt was my favorite, I love their regular just like, tank tops and fitted cotton shirts. They look great with high-waisted jeans. You can pair them with skirts. I continue to buy these there, and I will probably always buy these there, as long as they don’t change their sizing or mess anything up with that. My absolute favorite thing from the whole order, which i think is pretty apparent, was this white sweater. I love this sweater and I think I’m going to wear it to work tomorrow with that white skirt, but not my crystal shoes. That might be a bit much for work, but I loved this. I’m definitely very happy with that.
One thing I am going to send back is unfortunately, my my floral shirt that reminded me of the Japanese kimono. Just because, even though this is an extra small, it was huge me. I felt like I was just wearing a tent shirt. So I think that this style is better suited for somebody a little bit older than me who just wants things to just gracefully lay. I’m working really hard at the gym, so I’m not quite ready to wear all those loose shirts like that – yet. The skirt, I really liked the pencil skirt. It looked really good. I actually did like it with the shirt, and it feels really nice. It’s very thick, so it’d be good for the winter ,but I also feel like this is.. I feel like the material is breathable, so I think I could get away with wearing it in the summer too. I really liked that, very happy with that. It fits really well.
The white shirt I’m sending back, but just because it was a little bit too big on me in the arms. Everything else I loved. I always have problems like that whenever I do fitted dress shirts because I’m petite here and here, but I usually need a size up for the rest of myself. Especially in these shirts that go over my hips, I always need the next size up. So I ordered the small instead of the extra small, but I really do need that extra small up here in the shoulders, neck, and arms. So really like this, it feels really nice but just not quite small enough for me.
And I, I did like the the pants, and I didn’t realize whenever I ordered them, that they had zips on the inside. I didn’t know that that was there. So that was a fun little find. The start of the footage I have them unzipped and then I zip them up later. I’m not sure which one I like better but either way I was surprised that they did that. And these feel really nice, and they’re really stretchy. If you do look at them and decide that you want to get a pair, if you’re between sizes, I recommend that you go down a size rather than with the larger size because they do stretch quite a lot, and the band is just a little bit thick. So I’m still going to keep these because they were super cheap, and I like them. But their size 6, which is what I almost always wear, and I could have used a size 4 just to get a little bit tighter fit. So happy with my purchases.
