Romwe Haul Review
Thinking of trying out Romwe clothing? I was curious myself so I went ahead and placed an order to see if this popular website was a scam or legitimate. This was my first Romwe haul and try on and I filmed the whole experience. I’ll cover here what I discovered, sizing recommendations, and the quality of the merchandise. This was the first of a series of Romwe haul reviews, and I’ve continued to update this post as I learn more. My suggestions are pulled from multiple Romwe shopping reviews that I’ve done and continue to do. Here are some things to consider when Romwe shopping.
Sizing With Romwe
You should always size up when ordering online from Romwe. Let me explain that more in depth too. I frequently order women’s clothing hauls online from Shein, Aliexpress, and Ebay. For all of these women’s shopping websites, I have to order a size up from what I normally wear. With that said, my order from Romwe.com could have been two sizes up. I’m using these other popular cheap clothing websites as a reference because I’m assuming that if you’re interested in Romwe, you’ve probably already tried those shopping websites too. As I said before this was the first of my romwe reviews 2018 videos, but I’ve done several since then. I’ve learned a lot about their clothing sizing. Below is a list of popular shopping sites to help you make your own comparisons. Here are my Romwe sizing reviews which I hope can help you out.
Romwe.com Size Guide
Typically in Free People and Urban Outfitters I am a size extra small.
For Shein I need a size small.
For Romwe clothing I need a size large.
I’ve never needed a size large in my life until trying out Romwe clothing. I was nervous about all of the mixed reviews online I had read from Romwe shoppers. Several people report sizing problems, so I went ahead and ordered up, requesting mostly size medium. For me a medium was still not enough to get the best fit in their clothing. Hopefully you can use my size references from the popular brands I listed to figure out what to order for yourself. With that in mind though, pay careful attention to the video and how sizing can change based off of the type of clothing you are ordering. During my Romwe shopping haul you’ll find that I had to size up more for bottoms than tops.
Things You Should Buy at Romwe
I think it’s a great idea to order cheap accessories, jewelry, wraps, t-shirts, and pants from Romwe. The shirts I ordered were alright. They were cute enough for how cheap they were, and I really did like the style. Keep in mind that they’re sewing for a different kind of body all together. It’s not just that clothes are smaller, the entire shape is slightly different. For my haul Romwe videos I tried out fitted, ruffle and box shaped tops. For the most part all of them fit.
More On Tops
I need my tops to taper in for a smaller waist, and I need the bottom shoulder seam(under the arm) to be lower to fit my American hourglass shape. My shirts were super cute, but after wearing them a few hours, they do start to rub my underarm. With that said, I paid only a few dollars for them so that’s fine. Why do I still recommend their tops if this is the case? Stick to backless pieces or order a size up and you simply won’t have that problem. Keep in mind though that if you have an hourglass shape like I do, the waist is going to keep getting bigger without tapering inwards. Not the sexiest of looks. Is it right for you? I guess pick your battles. If you go fitted, order up, if you go with sweaters, pick your normal size. For the record I have liked every single sweater I’ve order from Romwe’s website.
More On Pants
The pants I ordered from Romwe have turned out to be my favorite product from their brand. I don’t wear dress pant often, but I find myself reaching for my Romwe pants frequently. I stuck with a size medium for the pants that I ordered, and though they were a little bit fitted, they weren’t unattractively tight. I usually need a size 2 – 4 in pants and a size small depending on the brand. I ordered size medium pants from Romwe and they fit me pretty well. The high water crane pant that I ordered is my favorite, and I have worn it several times already. I always get compliments at the office where I work when I do. My Romwe review 2018 video featured here doesn’t feature several pants, but I have since ordered more. I feel pretty comfortable recommending them to you.
Cheap Jewelry, Accessories, and Knickknacks
Absolutely you should order accessory, hair, scarf, and other knickknack pieces from Romwe. These products are ridiculously cheap when you order them online, and they may only last you a year or so, but who cares? Who wears a fish earring they bought for two dollars and then cries when it breaks a year or so later? No one. Romwe is the perfect place to buy things that are popular in the moment, or to have fun with fads, without losing the shirt off you back financially. Everyone loves off the shoulder tops right now, but how long do you think that will last? I don’t want to spend $100 on a dress shirt or modern blouse that’s going to be out of fashion in one season. This is the perfect kind of item to purchase from Romwe. Donate whatever you don’t want at the end of the season to Goodwill, Housing Works, or whatever charity you prefer, and keep all that stuff from cramping up your closet. After doing a few different Romwe site reviews, I still say order accessories from them. Go for it!
Hats With A Warning
I’m also going to say hats, but take that with a grain of salt. I ordered two Romwe hats, one of which was very cute and I still like and wear. The other hat I had to return. When it was packed the box was too full for one of the cat ear hats I ordered, so it was just smushed into the top in a flattened, haphazard way. I tried to steam it, press it and reshape it, but there was nothing I could do to revitalize the original shape. Since that experience I’ve mostly stuck with doing Romwe clothing reviews with mostly just the clothes. I’m not saying don’t order hats, just choose wisely. Worse case scenario you can still return it.
Things You Shouldn’t Buy From Romwe
Skirts, bodysuits, jackets, and socks. These are simply based off of my own preferences, body fit, and comfort. You may actually be ok with all of these, but I am picky about a few things in my wardrobe. I will also say as a seamstress (poke around here on my blog to see) I can be a bit hard to please in the fabric department.
Skirts – Though I’m Mixed
I liked the skirts that I ordered from Romwe, but they only worked for me because they had built in panties. The clothing descriptions online aren’t very long, so you don’t always know if a skirt has a built in panty or not. If they hadn’t been constructed with a built in panty, then they wouldn’t have fit me. The Romwe skirts, even after I sized up, were quite small and very short. I don’t mind so long as the panty is built in, but without it I would have been beyond uncomfortable. I should have ordered a size large in the skirt pieces for a better and longer fit. If you read above then you’ve already seen that in my overall Romwe sizing review. Always order up in skirts in particular. I’m usually a size small skirt and I need a large at Romwe.
Bodysuits
It’s easy to tell you not to order these. You can’t return them and the one I ordered was cut too thinly cut at the sides of the bust for me to feel comfortable. If you’re a B cup bust or smaller then you can probably get away with it. Everyone else – avoid the bodysuit purchases.
Jackets
I want to be entirely open here. In all fairness to the Romwe brand, I have NOT tried a jacket or coat yet. I would still recommend that you don’t purchase jackets or coats from them, simply based off of the fabrics of the clothing pieces I tried. A coat, depending on the season, is something that you will wear frequently. It needs to be well-made, comfortable, and long lasting. A polyester coat is not going to feel good on your skin, it won’t lay attractively on your body, and it will probably start to fall apart quickly. Even if you opt for one of their faux fur jacket options, it will soon start to look shabby because of the cheapness of the fabric. I highly recommend you spend you hard earned money somewhere else for any coat or jacket purchase.
Socks
Have you ever worn socks made out of polyester? It’s like wearing plastic bags on your feet. No thank you…
Final Romwe Review
Do I recommend Romwe.com as a shopping source overall? It depends on what you’re shopping for. No matter what order you place with Romwe, be sure to order at least one size up if not two. You can see more when you watch my Romwe haul for the best size for you. As long as you do that, most clothing items will fit, and they’ll be cute on you too. If you need quality fabric, meaning you like to invest in timeless pieces and put a precedence on fit, then Romwe is not for you. If you want to take part in a fad without spending too much money, or want to play around with a new look, absolutely try Romwe out. It’s also the perfect place for throwaway-able items.
