For some Japanese people, wearing cosplay outfits is something fun to do anytime of the year. If I wear my favorite cosplay look here in New York City though, I’m usually greeted with raised eyebrows and lots of questions. The female anime outfits featured here are some of my favorites. How to Cosplay
I created this cosplay lookbook with wearability in mind. One of a cosplay girls best tools are her many different lookbooks for referencing past creations. If I ever forget how I created some of my favorites, my anime blog is here as a reference guide. If you’re just now dipping your toe into the cosplay world, this is a great way to start. Just make a list of your favorite characters, give each one a wearability ranking, and go from there. Start with the easy to wear things, especially if you’re American, and you can slowly test your limits.

American Cosplay
There are many cosplay girls out there to watch, I just happen to be an American cosplay enthusiast. I’m not a Japanese person living in Japan, so I can’t get away with wearing the most elaborate anime clothes in my daily life. I’d like to think that gives me a unique perspective from other cosplay bloggers. I started out like most Americans with generic anime like Dragon ball Z and Sailor Moon, but it didn’t take long for my love of anime to branch out in other directions. Since then I’ve explored everything from mechanical, yaoi, romance, and comic anime. I truly love anime lookalikes and creating my own versions. These few cosplay Japanese anime sets are just the tip of the iceberg, and I plan to continue adding more.
Finding Cosplay Costumes
It’s not hard to cosplay Japanese anime looks, you just have to know where to go. I think it’s pretty easy to pull off cosplay female character looks. It’s just my opinion, but some of the mens looks are harder to recreate. Making armor is considerable harder and more expensive. For this post I wanted only cheap and very easy female cosplay ideas that I felt everyone could enjoy. These are very affordable and inexpensive anime looks for women that you can actually wear in the US in most places.
